"Sextiles" is a series of self-portraits based on nude selfies. The Sextiles are a way of beautifying these commonplace snapshots. The photos are taken quickly, spontaneously, even mid-sexting. The textile works on the other hand, require immense planning and take many hours to execute.

Daniel Leo Stern is a Berlin-based artist and performer. He has spent the last ten years touring as an acrobat and was initially drawn to working with textiles as a way to pass time backstage during shows.
